The Old Royal Naval College, designed by Sir Christopher Wren with support from Sir John Vanbrugh and Nicholas Hawks moor, began its life in 1705 as a sailors' hospital. Now it has a new identity as home to the University of Greenwich. This is the finest complex of Baroque buildings in Britain.
The Painted Hall, Chapel and Visitor Centre are open to the public daily 10.00-17.00 and are free. A rich and varied events programme brings to life the magnificent interiors, courtyards, colonnades and dramatic vistas.
